Terpene Tuesday (May 29th)

For today’s #terpenetuesday we will take a look at Linalool. Many of you may be familiar with Linalool and may not even be aware of it. Linalool is the terpene that gives plants their lavender like aroma. This terpene is used in aromatherapy to help those with stress and high anxiety relax. Along with relaxation, Linalool is said to be a key factor in fighting pain and muscle tension. It has also been said to help reduce the frequency of seizures in some forms of epilepsy in select cases. Linalool is said to almost block receptors that trigger the response that leads to a seizure. This is a step in the right direction for proving the legitimacy of cannabis medicine to those who are skeptical. As trials continue and more evidence is released we will know more about Linalool and the other terpenes and cannabinoids that are found within cannabis. (Photo found from the aspca)
